Is there away to pass a custom parameter through to reporting services 2k? Or, is there a way to create a report based upon current AD user information? I use AD authentication on my site. Sorry if I sound naive!

Thanks!

The module currently supports parameters via the querystring which are passed into a report and it also supports DNN UserId and PortalId. The UserId would not do you any good with AD, but you could certainly pass in the username via the querystring to the report. The only issue with this is people would be able to alter the user information via the querystring. If and when we write the AD integration, the username could be passed down via session which would be much more secure. Hopefully this answers your question!

So can I pass through the USERID parameter using MSSQL 2000 reporting services? I so, could you give me a crude example? This would help me tremendously.

Passing parameters is currently only available when SQL reporting services 2005 is used, we are working to possibly add this feature to reporting services 2000.

How to you pass the dnn userid to the actual report? Do you have to do it through the querystring? Could you please put some code on how we would do this?

The UserId and PortalId are special in that they are not allowed to be passed by the query string. So the way they work is if your report has a parameter actually called UserId or PortalId, they will implicitely be passed in. You could toggle their visibility to hidden and they will be passed down accordingly, no extra code or anything special needed within the report. Version 2.1 will have some new functionality around other things you'll be able to do with parameters.
